GPS Routes

Updated 1/22/07 REE

The following routes have been found useful when the weather doesn’t allow more direct flights.  Please check them for possible clerical errors before depending on them.  Report errors and other useful routes to Bob Elliott (Bob.AeroFun@gmail.com).

These routes are not intended to allow one to “push” the weather.  They do provide some peace of mind while operating in “low” conditions.  Each pilot must feel completely comfortable with every operation.  The “Min Altitude” and the altitudes in the “Remarks” are in MSL and provide about 200’ of terrain clearance, if you are right on track.  This altitude information is approximate and is provided for planning purposes, only.

After you input a route, we recommend you use your GPS’s “Edit On The Map” function to check your route for gross input errors (Does shape of route on GPS look like shape on sectional excerpt?).  Another check is to see if your route length equals the one given here.   If you have MapSource, you can upload the route to our computer and follow it through the terrain.  Or better yet let Mark Kelliher or Bob Elliott download the routes to your GPS.
