N820AK, Cessna 180K, 1977 model. It is a 6 seat configuration, including the pilot. Extra room for baggage and gear is behind the rear seats.  It came from the factory set up for skis and floats.  I have personally owned the plane for the last 17 years.

N820AK is equipped with Federal model 3200 hydraulic main wheel skis and a Federal 3000 tail ski in the winter.   In the summer I switch EDO model 2960 straight floats and keep the plane in it's slip at Lake Hood.  The engine is a Continental O-470U turning a 90 inch seaplane prop..  The airplane is equipped with a Garmin GPS and two com radios and is certified to fly on instruments although the VORs, ILS and ADF are rarely used.

The engine is preheated in the winter with a thermostat controlled “Little Big Heat” heater placed in the engine compartment.  If electricity is not available it can be preheated using a camp stove carried in the extended baggage.

The fuel tanks hold 80 gallons of fuel and the plane cruises at around 160 MPH on tires and about 145 MPH when the skis are installed. Certified useful load for N820AK is 1410 pounds on wheels.
